The Medizinisches Proteom-Center (MPC) at the Ruhr-University Bochum under the direction of Prof. Dr. Helmut E. Meyer is one of the world's leading institutes for protein research, currently employing about 50 people. The main scientific focus of the MPC is the detailed analysis of proteins in complex biological systems via mass spectrometry-based technologies combined with multi-dimensional separation strategies. The long-term aim is to contribute to the advancement of clinical diagnostics as well as to the development of therapies concerning major diseases such as Cancer, Alzheimer´s Disease and Parkinson's Disease.
